I can't comment on the sport facilities but the pond and wildflower meadow are great. Aquatic birds include Canada Geese, Coots, Mallard Ducks, Moorhens and an occasional Heron.The Sports and Social Club has three bars - a large public bar and two suitable for meetings and events. The public bar is standard social club stuff - the decor's not great but the staff are friendly and the drinks are cheap. The choice of beers and ciders on tap is limited - this isn't a venue for real ale and cider enthusiasts - but is fine for a quick pint or two on a sunny afternoon.One major downside is the entrance from Orchard Gardens - it looks more like it's there to keep people out than to welcome them. Litter can be a problem too, particularly around the skate park and the pathway that leads to Highbridge Street and McDonalds.All in all it's a lovely place to spend a summer afternoon. The pond particularly is a great, and underused, picnic spot.
Been coming here since a child. Now regularly train here on a Thursday night. Great location and a lot to do. Club house and staff are and always have been pleasant and friendly.
